Tickets sorted, Time for action

Right after the 23rd March Naya Pakistan Jalsa by PTI in Lahore, it got involved with the allocation and distribution of tickets to Party Candidates. Many names were liked, some disliked, and some left many in doubts and others were totally new to the election race. Quite a hullaballoo was created in these past almost three weeks, with many voices saying they would leave the party or they would boycott or they would be protesting outside Banigala Residence of Imran Khan.
Imran Khan while giving interview to Jang Daily said, “On the reserved seats of women, no relative of any party leadership will be awarded a ticket, all the tickets would be given on strictly merit basis.” Imran Khan introduced around 35 youth leaders to the media, adding that over 200 young leaders are being awarded party tickets. It’s a new precedent in Pakistan where youth come in the forefront of politics with courage and commitment. According to Imran Khan on Monday while talking to media he said, “Over 80% tickets have been allocated to the candidates who are non-electable, who have never been a part of any assembly of the country. This is a step towards a Naya (New) Pakistan. Keeping in view the reality that our youngsters can’t afford the election expenditure, we have also introduced Naya Pakistan Fund for youth, & ticket holders who can't afford the election campaign expenses,” he added. By awarding 35% quota to youth who are below 40 years of age, PTI has shut doors on all those who were in the habit of hop scotching from one party to the other. It is a new step towards getting rid of turncoats, inept politicians, new faces mean new spirit for development of the country. Imran Khan said, “We will fight a decisive battle in the upcoming elections where we would have a new system. We will give them a new Pakistan. Now the people should come out of their homes, vote and support our young leaders. I tell you that 40 million new and young voters would make a difference in the upcoming elections. By introducing youth in politics, we have got rid of the game of musical chairs which was going on for so many decades.”

He said, in 90 days Union Council elections would be held once he comes in power, no development funds would be given to the MNA’s or MPA’s all over Pakistan. These development funds will only land at the village and town committee level other than the mega projects. This fact has been hailed and appreciated all over Pakistan. This being the initial step is like chopping off the root cause of mega corruption.

With most or almost all seats and names decided throughout Pakistan by Tehreek-e-Insaf now, it is now time for action. The constituencies await those candidates to come and start their political campaign. Almost three weeks left to the National and Provincial elections in Pakistan there is not much time left to do all their campaign. PTI supporters should understand; it is the party head, his commitment to the people of Pakistan, his determination that matters at this point in time. The votes will go to Imran Khan that is the Change, who is the spirit of making Naya Pakistan. Whosoever is given a ticket under the PTI umbrella will be directly a name for change, the Captain of the team is Imran Khan, that cannot change, so, keeping this in mind, all those who could not get a ticket should support his vision, don’t lose sight of the ultimate goal, which is making a New Pakistan.

Youth, who are the backbone of any country have been given a golden opportunity, bestowed never before in the history of Pakistan, to come forward and stand in the center as forthcoming leaders of their area. Still the old timers of Politics and various TV anchors cannot stop and comment that new faces in elections will fail miserably in front of the old names, seasoned politicians & family politics. Most of the candidates from PTI do not have political backgrounds. As a matter, it is hoped, people of Pakistan will vote for the real change and ideology of PTI which has been introduced by the Blessings of Almighty otherwise the common people wouldn’t have had a choice and would have followed the same old rut and the same old political gimmicks of dynastic families.
The mindset of the old politicians like Shahbaz Sharif is as following: In his nomination papers he has categorically written, his profession as politics. When your bread and butter is politics, then no fair chance is either taken or given to the masses because in that; self over takes any public service. Here Edgar Watson Howe’s following quote fits perfectly; “If you have sense enough to realize why flies gather around a restaurant, you should be able to appreciate why men run for office.”

If we look at the pattern of education, policies being followed in the past, one can understand what abides by perfectly well. Pakistani’s have been deliberately kept illiterate; Reason being, it’s very easy to manipulate less literate people. Not their fault though, they are kept this way so that emotions take over their practical side, so that they can be aroused and inspired to follow the old ways. The educated class, the professional, youth and middle class in majority is following PTI. They are not an emotional bunch, they are highly articulate, down to earth and practical people, since they understand the real change which will happen once this party takes hold of the power houses.

In the previous elections, in the good ole days, a general understanding of a political leader used to be, after winning an election, they would ‘enjoy’ the perks of Parliament, as Ministers, as any office bearer sitting in the Government. The word “Enjoy” has been practiced in letter and spirit by all these people. PTI is turning those tables, introducing young, dynamic and energetic representatives of people, who are not status conscious, who are here to suffer and serve, and let the people of Pakistan enjoy in reality. The winning sight for PTI candidates is the smiling faces of Pakistan, which will be their prize, trophy and destiny. “Your smiling faces, your dazzling outlook would be my trophy.” This is the spirit of PTI workers; this is the vision of Imran Khan.
