Building Bridges

I feel your sweet spirit in me
Share and love life with thee
You and I can never part
For we are connected at heart

You and I go shop with the same rupee
We unwind our stress with the same tea
For the leaves give us the same kick start
We get ready to play another game of dart

We feast the same way with zea
Biryani, Chapatti, Pulao & green tea
Words & quotes from the same chart
Why you & I have tears when we depart?

Our flowers get suckled by the same bee
For cooking we use the same ghee
We are thought to be equally smart
By the world that uses us for mart

Sharing the same breeze of Arabian Sea
The worlds view for two of us is small pea
Saying sorry, accepting fault is a fine art
Hate, stay away from our kids; we restart

Wonder how many generations it be
For both us to actually ponder and see
We cannot be each others weak part
Plot and plan so one of us falls apart

We both should sit down and foresee
Wars and Weapons shall never be trustee
For humans to feast together a friendly tart
Satan shoo-away, my Indian friend & I are riding on the same cart!

Dedicated to India Pakistan and its billions of people who live on either side of the border, sharing the bond of friendship as God had wanted.
